Study Timeline
- Fall 2007—final study plan approved, OMB package submitted.
- Spring 2008—obtain OMB clearance, recruit schools.
- Spring 2008—obtain school-defined eligible pool of students, recruit online teachers.
- Summer 2008—train online teachers, conduct random assignment of schools.
- Fall 2008—implement intervention, conduct classroom observations, collect Spring 2008 seventh-grade state assessment.
- Winter 2009—conduct classroom observations.
- Spring 2009—collect eighth-grade state mathematics assessment scores, eighth grade math course grades, administer math achievement assessment to all eighth grade students in participating schools.
- Fall 2009—collect math and science course enrollments.
- Spring 2010—collect course completion/grades/credit data from schools.
- Fall 2010—collect math and science course enrollments, administer and collect PSAT scores.
- Fall 2010–Winter 2011—conduct final analyses; prepare tables; draft, revise, and complete final report.
- Winter 2011–Spring 2011—disseminate results.
