Participant Benefits
Schools participating in the Pathways to Math Achievement Project receive the following:
- A high quality Algebra I course offered online for eighth graders who are ready for algebra, provided at no cost, including:
- A highly qualified teacher, certified to teach mathematics and trained to teach online
- Technical support from Class.com
- Support systems for participating students from online teachers who will provide regular feedback and assessment regarding students' learning
- Graphing calculators for Algebra I students to use (and for the schools to keep)
- Compensation (e.g., stipends) for on-site proctors/liaisons
- Compensation for teacher participation in research activities (e.g., surveys)
- Recognition for involvement and the opportunity to contribute to the broader knowledge and policy development about taking courses online and taking Algebra I in eighth grade
